MILWAUKEE BREWERS (-135)
Have to take a chance with the Brew Crew here, especially when you realize just how good Gallardo has been against the Astros in his career. In his 12 starts against the Astros in his career, he has posted a 10-2 record against them overall, while also holding a paltry 2.81 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and lowly .232 BAA against the Houston franchise. He faced Houston 3 times last season, with the Brewers emerging victorious in each of those contests. Gallardo also held a 3-0 record in those starts with a 2.14 ERA as he allowed 5 total ER in 21 IP against them in 2011. Gallardo has actually posted a perfect 7-0 record in his L7 starts against the Astros dating back to the 2009 season, compiling a slightly inflated 3.06 ERA in those 44 innings of work. The stud righty has been dominant when pitching in Houston, as through his 4 career starts in the city, he has been dominant in 3 of those 4 starts, allowing 2 ER or less in 3 of those starts (1 ER or less in 2 of them) while holding a 2.70 ERA in his career in Houston. Gallardo dominates the Astros hitters as well, as only Wallace has had any success against him, hitting .333 (3-for-9 4 K), while the rest of the usual starting lineup has managed a pathetic near .100 average, while never hitting an HR or driving in a run against him on the mound. Happ will be on the mound for Houston here today and kid was money against the Brewers in his one start against them this season, as he tossed 6 innings of shutout ball to earn a 4-0 win. He hasn't been quite as effective against the Brewers in his career however, as he has posted a 3-2 career record with an inflated 5.26 ERA in 7 career starts (8 appearances) against the Milwaukee team. Happ was rocked in his first start against the
Brewers this season, allowing 4 ER in 5 IP, so he is 1-0 through 2 starts against them this season, with a 3.27 ERA in 11 IP, although he has allowed 2 HR against them as well. Braun is 6-for-20 (.300) against him with a 2B, 2 HR and 5 RBI in his career against Happ, while Aoki, Hart, Weeks, Morgan, Ishikawa,
Ramirez and Izturis are also crushing Happ in their careers, combining to go 23-for-49 (.460) with 8 2B, 4 HR and 8 RBI. This one should be a runaway early. Take the MILWAUKEE BREWERS here.........
