*5 UNITS* PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS MONEY LINE (-155) AND *2.5 UNITS* PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS (-3.5)
It just seems safer to lay the light juice in this one and take the Blazers on the ML and it seems a lot safer when you consider the Lakers have struggled to win in Portland in recent seasons and with a Blazers team that has been perfect at home so far this season, it doesn't appear to get any easier tonight. The Lakers have won 2 of 3 in Oregon, but the Trailblazers actually own the Lakers on their home court, posting an overall 10-2 ML and record in their L12 games there since February of 2005. However, strangely enough, only 2 of those 10 ML wins came when they were listed as the favorite (but they are 2-0 ML) and they are 1-1 ATS in those 2 games, with the lone ATS loss coming as a 3.5 point favorite and they won by 3. The Blazers have started off hot in all phases of their game this season, going for over 101 points in 4 of their first 5 games on the year and holding their opponents to 93 or less in 3 of those 5. On the flip side the Lakers have stumbled out to a disappointing 0-2 ML and ATS start on the road so far this season, losing by 9 in each at Denver and Sacramento. They did score 108 in their last game, although it was at Staples Center, but it was the first time they have reached the 100 mark all season long. They have been held to 92 points or less in 4 of their first 7 games, including both on the road. They have struggled from beyond the arc all season long, hitting for less than 25% of their 3-point attempts on the year overall and they have been ungodly awful on the road this season, converting on less than 13% of their 3's. Although Portland isn't the number one team in the league in regards to 3-point shooting, they are hitting for 35% on their home court, and if the Lakers come out shooting like their percentage suggests, it will be a key factor for the Blazers to pick up the victory. Take the TRAILBLAZERS for 5 UNITS on the MONEY LINE in this one and add a 2.5 UNIT PLAY on them to COVER the SPREAD tonight at home.......
