MONTREAL CANADIANS (+110)
The Canadians face a red hot Flyers squad that has won 6 straight games and looks to make it 7 in a row for the first time since 2002. However, since 2002, the Flyers have had 6 previous chances to get to 7 in a row and failed to do so each and every time. With both Giroux and Pronger out again tonight, we'll take our chances that history will repeat itself here. The Flyers have won 4 out of 5 and 7 out the L10 meetings between these two clubs since May of 2010. They also come into this one scoring 4 or more goals in 5 of the L6 games overall, while converting on over 30% of their PP opportunities in that span. And the Canadians should have more value here, especially considering they are 1-7 ML in their L8 games listed as the underdog and only 3-6 ML in their L9 overall, which includes their current 2-game winning streak. Their recent success has been largely because of Price in net, as he is a perfect 3-0-2 with a 1.94 GAA in his L5 starts overall. He is already 1-1 with a 2.01 GAA in 2 games against them this season, allowing 4 goals in 58 shots on net, but he is 2-4 and has allowed 17 goals in his previous 6 starts against them. But the Canadians have never lost to Bryzgalov, who should be in net tonight. Bryzgalov is currently 0-4 with a 3.75 GAA in his 4 career starts against them. Take a chance on the MONTREAL CANADIANS to pull off the small upset at home today.......
BRADLEY BRAVES (+7)
This spread seems a little out of whack, especially considering Bradley could walk away with the victory in this one tonight. Even still, they should keep this one close throughout as although they have largely been a disappointment lately, dropping 4 of their L5 games, they did get that lone win in their last outing and they are a mediocre 4-4 ML on the year overall. However, they are an abysmal 1-5 ATS so far in 2011, including going 0-3 as an underdog. Of their 4 losses, two have been close (by 5 to NEV on a neutral court, and by 4 to WOFF at home) and two have been by 17-point blowout (at WYO and against WIS on a neutral court). In those two losses, poor FG shooting was key as they went 18-for-49 at WYO and 18-for-53 against WIS, but they are facing a GW team that is allowing their opponents to score 70 PPG against them on average, on 43% FG shooting overall, over their L5 games. And against them, only one team (Maryland Eastern Shore on opening night) made less than 20 FG against them in any game this year. GW does come in having lost 4 straight, but against some very tough competition, and despite their respectable 4-5 ML record this year, they are horrible when money is concerned, going 2-6 ATS for their backers, including 0-2 when listed as the favorite. Go with BRADLEY to COVER as the underdog on the SPREAD here tonight.......
