VANCOUVER CANUCKS (-150)
The Canucks have found their rhythm lately and should still be in that same frame of mind as they return home to face a Washington Capitals squad still struggling to get their season on the right track. The Canucks struggled through a nice stretch at home to kick off the season themselves, but have suddenly regained their form after a nice road trip saw them post 5 wins in the 7 game trip and are coming in with 3 straight wins in a row to close it out. They needed OT for all 3 of those games, winning one in SO as well, and have played at least an extra period in 4 of their L5 overall. They have also managed to score 3 goals or more in 6 of their L7 as well. That could be enough to shut down Washington in itself, as Luongo has absolutely owned this team throughout his career. The Canucks goaltender is an astounding 13-1-0 with 2 shutouts and a 2.23 GAA in his L14 games against the Capitals. Pretty strong stuff. Last season, Vancouver also seemed to bring their 'A' game when returning home after an extended trip as they were 4-1 ML in the 5 games at home after a 3-game road trip or longer and won 2-1 against the Red Wings in their only situation after a 5-game trip or longer. The season before they were 6-3 in that same situation and went 3-0 in the 3 games after returning home from a 5-game trip or longer. The Canucks have won 3 in a row between these two squads and have dominated Washington with an 8-1 ML record in the L9 match-ups. Take the VANCOUVER CANUCKS to skate to the WIN in tonight's meeting......
CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS (-120) AND
OVER 5 CHI BLACKHAWKS @ MIN WILD (-105)
The Wild just handled this Blackhawks team the other night in Chicago, winning 5-3, and are looking to extend their 3-game winning streak to 4. Unfortunately that won't be an easy task and we don't expect them to get the job done here tonight. Chicago has actually played well against the Wild in recent meetings, taking 6 out of the L7 meetings between the two teams, prior to the Wild win the other night. They have won 2 out of the L3 there and although the Wild do have a 3-2 ML record overall in the L5 meetings at the Xcel Center, none of their wins against the Blackhawks have come in regulation either. Chicago is actually 7-4 ML in the L11 meetings in St. Paul, with all 4 of the Wild wins coming in OT or a SO, so expect this one to be tight. But expect the Blackhawks to prevail once again. Roll with the CHICAGO BLACKHAWKS to WIN in tonight's battle......
THERE YOU HAVE IT ONCE AGAIN!! 3 MORE FREEBIE WINNERS FOR YOU TO CASH IN ON FOR THIS MAKE THAT MONEY MONDAY IN THE NHL!!
