*5 UNITS* OVER 192.5 MIAMI HEAT @ ATLANTA HAWKS AND ATLANTA HAWKS (+3.5)
It appears most everybody is on the Heat in this one tonight and we are going to assume it is because they should be playing with the full trio of stars again, despite the fact that Lebron and Wade are both listed as questionable in today's game. The Heat are a perfect 3-0 ML in their 3 road games with wins over Dallas, Charlotte and Minnesota, but those 3 wins were by 11, 1 and 2 points respectively and they failed to covered the spread in either of their L2 against Charlotte and Minnesota. In fact, despite being 5-1 ML in their L6 overall, the Heat are a sub-par 2-4 ATS in those games and they did lose to the Hawks straight up (for their only loss this season) the other night, 100-92, in Miami. They face an Atlanta team that has lost 2 out of 3 overall, but all 3 of those games were on the road, and the Hawks have been much better at home this season, posting a perfect 2-0 ML and 1-1 ATS record in those 2 games. There is a trend in play that is 8-2 for the Over on the short season so far and we expect it to cash in again tonight as both of these teams have been scoring as of late. Miami has scored 100+ in 5 of their first 7 games, while the Hawks have also scored 100 or more in 4 of their 6 games and in both games played on their home court. Go BIG with the OVER in this one and also play the HAWKS for your NORMAL WAGER to COVER the SPREAD in tonight's game......
*5 UNITS* PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS MONEY LINE (-155) AND *2.5 UNITS* PORTLAND TRAILBLAZERS (-3.5)
It just seems safer to lay the light juice in this one and take the Blazers on the ML and it seems a lot safer when you consider the Lakers have struggled to win in Portland in recent seasons and with a Blazers team that has been perfect at home so far this season, it doesn't appear to get any easier tonight. The Lakers have won 2 of 3 in Oregon, but the Trailblazers actually own the Lakers on their home court, posting an overall 10-2 ML and record in their L12 games there since February of 2005. However, strangely enough, only 2 of those 10 ML wins came when they were listed as the favorite (but they are 2-0 ML) and they are 1-1 ATS in those 2 games, with the lone ATS loss coming as a 3.5 point favorite and they won by 3. The Blazers have started off hot in all phases of their game this season, going for over 101 points in 4 of their first 5 games on the year and holding their opponents to 93 or less in 3 of those 5. On the flip side the Lakers have stumbled out to a disappointing 0-2 ML and ATS start on the road so far this season, losing by 9 in each at Denver and Sacramento. They did score 108 in their last game, although it was at Staples Center, but it was the first time they have reached the 100 mark all season long. They have been held to 92 points or less in 4 of their first 7 games, including both on the road. They have struggled from beyond the arc all season long, hitting for less than 25% of their 3-point attempts on the year overall and they have been ungodly awful on the road this season, converting on less than 13% of their 3's. Although Portland isn't the number one team in the league in regards to 3-point shooting, they are hitting for 35% on their home court, and if the Lakers come out shooting like their percentage suggests, it will be a key factor for the Blazers to pick up the victory. Take the TRAILBLAZERS for 5 UNITS on the MONEY LINE in this one and add a 2.5 UNIT PLAY on them to COVER the SPREAD tonight at home.......

ILLINOIS CHICAGO FLAMES (+17)
This spread just seems like too much for CLE ST in this match-up, or in any match-up for the Vikings for that matter. Cleveland State should put this one away fairly early, but we fully expect Illinois Chicago to hang around and keep this one just under double-digits if not closer in the end. The Flames have struggled to pick up the W lately, posting a 3-7 ML record in their L10 games, although they have gone 4-1 ATS in their L5. And although they are 5-9 ML on the year overall, Illinois Chicago has held all but 3 games within double-digits and has lost only one game all season long by today's spread, a 95-53 loss at Oregon State. Besides that Oregon State blowout, their other 5 losses were by a difference of 4, 7, 3, 2 and 3, respectively. No doubt about it, Cleveland State has had a great start to their season, going 12-3 ML through their first 15 games, although only 4 of those wins were by double-digits. They are also 0-7 ATS when the spread has them listed as a favorite of 6 points or more and they are coming in off a 6-point loss to Youngstown St at home in their last game, a game in which they were listed as -13.5 favorites. In their other 4 games on their home court, they have blown out Sam Houston State by 18 and Rio Grande by 29, and they have beaten both St. Bonaventure and Akron by 3 there. Go with ILLINOIS CHICAGO to COVER this massive spread here.......
PEPPERDINE WAVES (+21.5)
We have had some difficulties going against Gonzaga as a double-digit favorite lately, but how can you not like Pepperdine in this situation getting over 20 points? We'll take our chances on this one here. Go with PEPPERDINE to COVER as huge underdogs in this one.....
NORTH DAKOTA STATE BISON (+7)
This one should be close throughout as these two schools always seem to play tight games, with 7 out of the L8 meetings between them decided by 8 points or less. The home team has won 5 straight with Oral Roberts also going 5-1 ML in that same span, but North Dakota State would have cashed for us in 5 of the L7 meetings against today's spread, with one of those losses just falling short at 8. The Bison have also had an incredible 10-3 start to the season so far and haven't lost by more than 4 points in any game this season. They have lost 3 out of 4 on the road, but again, none of those were by more than 4 points, as they lost at Minnesota and Arizona State by 3 and at Western Illinois by 4. Take the NORTH DAKOTA STATE BISON to COVER the SPREAD in today's match-up......
PURDUE BOILERMAKERS (-6.5)
We were crushed by Penn State the other night as they went into their match-up against Northwestern a perfect 15-0 ATS or something like that in the L15 meetings and that burn is still fresh in our heads. It seems like a good time to go against them tonight as they should give more than a few baskets away to this Boilermaker team that has won 5 out of 6, 8 out of 10 and posted a 12-3 ML record on the season overall. Unfortunately they do also come into this one having lost 3 of 4 on the road overall, but those 3 losses were at Butler (neutral court), Xavier and Alabama (neutral). Penn State is not akin to any one of those teams. Jump on PURDUE to COVER in today's meeting.....
CANISIUS GOLDEN GRIFFINS (+7)
I just can't figure out why this spread is so high for today's match-up despite the fact that St. Peter's has won 7 out of the L8 meetings between the two schools and also have gone 6-2 ATS in that span. However the Underdog is 12-4 ATS in the L16 meetings and Canisius did win last year's meeting on their home court. Not too mention, St. Peter's has lost 8 straight games, 9 of 10 and come into this one with an absolutely horrendous 2-12 ML record on the season. Both of these teams match up pretty evenly statistically in all aspects, but the Griffins do have an edge on defense from downtown, as they have held their opponents to 26% from outside in their L5 games. Go with CANISIUS as the decent underdog in this one.......
