TODAY'S ACTION --
(NCAA BB)
ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS (+11)
Arkansas is red hot as of late and should have enough to keep this one within a double-digit difference when the final whistle blows. The Razorbacks come into tonight's meeting having won 5 straight games overall and also posting a 5-0 ATS record in that span, while also picking up 3 straight wins and covers when playing on the road against the likes of Auburn, South Carolina and LSU. Arkansas is 7-3 ATS in their L10 games and 9-4 ATS in their L13 overall and the Razorbacks have also posted a 5-2 ATS mark in their L7 on the road. They are 3-1 ATS in their L4 when playing as the underdog, but they are 0-1 ATS on the season when playing as a double-digit underdog. Florida comes in off a 10-point loss against Kentucky the last time out, which snapped a 9-game winning streak they were on prior to that. Florida has also won 4 straight on their home court to go along with a 3-1 ATS mark, although half of their 8 home conference games have been decided by less than 10 points. The Gators have failed to cover the spread in 2-of-the-L3 in which they were listed as a double-digit favorite and are now 3-4 ATS in their L7 when laying 10+ points. Florida has won 6 straight meetings between the two schools, although Arkansas is now 4-3 ATS in the L7 in the series. These two have played much tighter contests than the record would indicate, as the L5 meetings have been decided by 9 points or less, with those meetings decided by final differentials of 9, 7, 4, 1 and 2 points. Florida has won 11 straight meetings played in Florida, although the Razorbacks hold a 4-1 ATS mark in the L5 played there. Take the ARKANSAS RAZORBACKS as a double-digit underdog on the road......
TEXAS LONGHORNS (+8.5)
Have to roll with the Longhorns again here tonight as this seems like a good spot for them to cash, especially getting near double-digit points in a game they potentially could win outright. Texas has won 2 straight meetings in this in-state rivalry and has posted a 5-1 ML record in the L6 against Tech. In fact, the Longhorns have now posted a dominating 16-2 ML edge in the L18 meetings and they have now posted a 6-2 ML record in the L8 meetings played on the Tech campus. The only two wins by Tech in that extended span came by 8 points or less. Texas has lost 5 straight coming into tonight, while holding a 0-4-1 ATS record in that same span, with Texas also now going 1-6 ML and 1-5-1 ATS in their L7 overall. Texas has been horrendous on the road this season overall, losing all 10 of their true road games this season, although as we have seen, they are also 6-3-1 ATS in those same games. Four of those 10 losses have come by 4 points or less. The Red Raiders are suddenly struggling themselves, with 3 straight losses on the ML and ATS overall, with a 1-5 ML record over their L6 overall. Two of their L3 games prior to tonight have been decided by an OT quarter and although TTU is 15-3 ML at home this season overall, they have had only one Big 12 conference home win come by more than 8 points. Texas Tech is 4-2 ML and 2-4 ATS in their L6 home games with them as the listed favorite, and their L6 wins at home have been decided by 6, 8, 6, 13, 1 and 1 points. Texas is 22-3 ML in the L25 meetings between the two schools. Go with the TEXAS LONGHORNS in this rivalry.....
UC IRVINE ANTEATERS (-6.5)
Always love going with one of the alma-maters around here and even though the Anteaters have struggled to cover the spread lately, they have owned the recent meetings with their Big West rival and have been dominating the conference for the most part overall as well this season. For starters, the Anteaters own 4 consecutive wins in this match-up and have now dominated the Highlanders with a near perfect 9-1 ML advantage in the L10 meetings. Irvine has also currently covered 4 straight meetings between the schools and hold an 8-1 ATS edge in the L9 meetings against Riverside. UCI also comes into tonight having won 4-of-their-L5 overall, and although they have posted a 2-3 ATS mark in those games, three of those wins came by 14 points or more. Each of their L8 wins against UCR have also come by 9 points or more with 6 of those wins in that span coming by 14 points or more as well. Riverside is mired in a complete funk right now, dropping 6 straight games on the ML and ATS with all but one of those losses coming by 7 points or more. The Highlanders are now 1-8 ML and ATS in their L9 games overall and they are an imperfectly perfect 0-5 ML and ATS mark in their L5 games played on their home court. Riverside has also dropped 3 straight when playing as the underdog and is now 1-4 ML and ATS in their L5 when getting the points. The Highlanders could have some major problems on the offensive end of the floor as they will also be without two players who add up to about 18 PPG this season, due to a suspension. UCI is currently mired in a 2-6 ATS skid over their L6 against the Big West, however, the Highlanders have produced a pathetic 3-13 ATS record in their L16 on their home court. Add to that, the Anteaters just beat UCR by 19 points just three games ago. Roll with the UC IRVINE ANTEATERS in tonight's Big West snoozer......
UTAH STATE AGGIES (-4)
Haven't had a chance to play on Utah State much this season, however against this horrendous UNLV squad that is entrenched in struggles, we have to go with the Aggies. Watched from the floor as UNLV was destroyed by Nevada last time out, a pathetic 94-58 drubbing against their lone in-state rival in what can only be described as an embarrassment. Some might expect a team to rebound from that, but with the 81-58 beat-down the Rebels suffered at Air Force the game prior, it's probably a good chance that this team might have shut down for the season already. The Runnin Rebels are long gone from their glory days (like the 1987 team they showcased on Saturday) and this team comes into tonight having posted an abysmal 0-9 ML record over their L9 games to go along with an equally as bad 1-7-1 ATS mark in that span. UNLV has had five-of-their-L6 losses come by 13 points or more, with 4 of those losses coming by 20 points or more. The Rebels have been just as bad on their home court as well, putting together a 1-6 ML and 0-7 ATS record in their L7 played on their home campus. Utah State rolled Air Force by 31 in their last game and this team has now posted two straight wins overall and comes into tonight with a 3-1-1 ATS mark over their L5 contests. The Aggies are 6-2-1 ATS in their L9 overall. Utah State has also struggled on the road this season, going 1-7 ML and 2-6 ATS in their L8 away from home. UNLV has now lost 7 consecutive against the spread and owns a 3-12-1 ATS mark over their L16 games. Go with UTAH STATE as the road favorite......
WASHINGTON HUSKIES (+24)
This just seems like too many points, despite how well the Bruins have been playing this season as a whole. Yes, UCLA did just roll Washington by 41 points on the Huskies own campus about a month and a half ago and there is no doubt about it, Washington is brutal this season in virtually every way. Washington has now lost 10 in a row and holds a dismal 2-8 ATS mark in that stretch as well. The Huskies have dropped 7 straight on the road since Pac 12 play began, although all 6 of those losses have come by 24 points or less, with 4 of those losses coming by 11 points or less. They only have one loss on the road this season by more than today's spread and that came almost 3 months ago at Gonzaga. UCLA comes in having won 7 straight overall themselves, although only two of those wins (including the one against Washington) have come by more than 18 points and they do hold a 3-6 ATS mark over their L9 games. The Bruins hold a 3-1 ML and 1-3 ATS record in their L4 on their own home court and have been a disappointing 2-6 ATS in their L8 at home. UCLA is 1-3 ATS in their L4 and 2-7 ATS in their L9 when they are laying double-digit points. Washington has won 2-of-the-L3 meetings with the Bruins and has also had two of the L3 meetings played at UCLA decided by a mere 2 points each. Don't expect that to happen here tonight, but just see Washington hanging around enough to keep this one under 20. Go with the WASHINGTON HUSKIES as a monster road dog tonight......
