NEW YORK JETS (+6.5) AND
UNDER 45.5 CLEVELAND BROWNS @ NEW YORK JETS
Really like the Jets in this spot here as they come into this game off a tough 17-16 season opening loss to the Bills and their starting QB sidelined with a case of mono. Once again this is a battle of two teams playing off of some very disappointing trends, as both the Jets and Browns have struggled recently in spots such as tonight. For starters, the Browns come in having posted a 2-8 ATS record in their L10 games off a double-digit loss at home and are now a dismal 1-5 ATS in their L6 meetings with the Jets. The Jets meanwhile are now 0-5-1 ATS in their L6 games played on their home turf and 0-4 ATS in their L4 against a team with a sub-par record on the road. The favorite is on a massive trend here though, posting 9 straight wins and holding a 9-1 ATS mark in the L10 meetings since the turn of this century. The Jets have largely been the favorites in that span though, as although the Browns won the last meeting between them last season, the Jets have now posted a 5-1 ML and ATS mark in the L6 meetings and although they hold a 2-2 ML record in the L4 meetings played in New York, the Browns haven't won either of those games by more than 6 points. In fact, this series has been historically close, as each of the L3 meetings have been decided by 4 points or less. The Browns carry a 4-6 ML record in the L10 meetings against the Jets as well, with none of those wins coming by more than 6 points. Cleveland also holds a 2-6 ATS mark in their L8 on MNF, while also putting together a paltry 13-33 ATS record in their L46 games following a straight up ML loss and a 3-11 ATS mark in their L14 games played on field turf. Cleveland has been hitting for the Under lately in situations such as this as they come into tonight with a 5-1-1 mark for the Under in their L7 games against a team with a losing record and a 9-1 mark for the Under in their L10 when coming off a double-digit loss at home. Siemian comes in making his first start in the NFL since the 2017 season with the Broncos, but he does hold a 13-11 mark as a starter in this league. The Browns come in with plenty of headaches on their side of the ball with the likes of Mayfield and OBJ constantly spouting off, while on the field they surrendered 28 unanswered points last week to the Titans to close out the game and were penalized a ridiculous 18 times for 182 yards. Something still smells a little off with the Browns and until they can show us results, we will take the other side. The Jets should have enough on the defensive side of the ball to keep this one within the points and on the low side. Roll with the NEW YORK JETS and the UNDER here tonight....
Best of luck to all tonight!! Let's get that money!!
