If you didn't need convincing.......
The NFL (National Fixed League to some) was at it again last night! Someway, somehow, the replacement refs blew yet another call, to finally cost an official game. Way to go NFL!! And seriously, for the first time in my life, I actually want to go to the sportsbook window and politely ask for my money back. A full refund!! I feel like I just bet on the WWF or WWE or whatever their crazy little moniker is nowadays.....
Okay, of course I am kidding here, but seriously, could that have been the worst bad beat in the history of individual games? Sure this wasn't a 10-team parlay blown by a team leading by 20 points in the 4th quarter as a -3.5 point fave and they win the game by a FG or anything like that. This isn't even that 30-point underdog you had trailing by 2 at the half, only to get outscored 35-0 in the 2nd half. But still, this is an awful beat......
The worst kind of bad beat i my opinion occurred last night. It was an obvious win if you were on the Packers, but someway, somehow the Packers didn't get credit for it. But if you look deeper into it, this was a sham job of the highest degree and was many years in the making. Just happened to be this game....
For starters that was the first time in the history of MNF (over 600+ games) that the final play has come down to a winning TD in the end zone!! The first time in 600+ games!! And it didn't even happen!! But historically it will forever always have. I wonder if 20 years from now, when they mention that stat on MNF, will they mention the shadiness surrounding it, or will it just be referred to as a TD winning catch to win the game in the annuls of time?
Secondly, these replacement refs are a complete disgrace!! They have no control over the games in any way and made a ton of just outright wrong calls to completely ruin this game in every way. On 4th down, they called a pass interference penalty against the Packers that was a huge spot foul and was clearly pass interference on the offense, both in regular time and super slow-mo. That was a brutal call and although it was well-complained about by the announcers and ourselves, little did we know what was to come......
The final play. It was an amazing play. Great pass by Russell Wilson. Great interception by Jennings. Great one-handed effort by Tate. Great fight and desire to not give up by Tate. But clearly the ball was wrapped up with two hands and pulled to his chest by Jennings for the interception and Tate clearly had one hand on it, thus it was not the simultaneous BS catch that the NFL is trying to suggest it was. And even further, Tate completely shoved the d-back (guy flew about 5 yards) in front of him before even going up for the "catch", which should have been offensive pass interference and made it all a moot point anyway. That was blatantly obvious as well.....
Then the refs didn't even agree the call. The one guy who actually saw, Jennings showed him the tucked ball to his chest and that ref correctly called it a touchback. Another ref who was right there the whole time and should have clearly seen the push off on Tate and the subsequent catch by Jennings, inexplicably ruled it a TD -- at the very exact second the other ref was calling it a touchback INT. It was quite comical to see the refs right next to each other, look at each other, and then both motion 2 completely different things.....
But somehow it was called a TD on the field. So we had hope that the review officials would clearly see that the call was completely erroneous and the right thing will be done, right?! This is where the sham job from the NFL came in. Well, even further I guess. The NFL inexplicably has rules in place that allow for reviews of virtually all catches in determination of possession, unless it is a td-play in the end zone to end the game. Specifically a TD play in the end zone, to end the game!!
Doesn't that seem strange to anyone else? Of all the times you would think you would need a review of a play would be if it is a TD play in the end zone to end the game!! You do want to get the call right? Right?!
Or do you simply not care about getting the call right at all? This is purely for entertainment purposes anyway, right? It doesn't matter if that win causes havoc for teams when playoff time comes around or when a division is up for grabs between two teams. None of that means anything, right? It will be very interesting if the Packers miss the playoffs by one game, or the Seahawks get in thanks to that extra win......
Listen, a bad beat is a bad beat and this is one of umpteenth billions (at least it seems) of bad beats that we have endured throughout our wagering lifetimes, and truthfully this one probably isn't the worst -- but, this one does sting. We have all now become witness to the NFL testimony that they simply don't care what the outcome of a game is, as long as billions are being spent on ticket, television, merchandise, gambling, etc. revenues. What happened last night was no different than Hulk Hogan pinning his opponent with a knocked out ref in the corner and then Macho Man sneaks in fron behind and slams him with a chair, and bodyslams him out. Then the ref suddenly comes to and calls the pin on Hulk instead. If they are going to allow this crap the NFL is pulling, why the hell don't they allow the WWE to be wagered on??
Just saying......
But that said, we will get that money back tonight!! We still had a MONSTER WEEKEND OF FOOTBALL and we are going to continue rolling into this upcoming week!!
DO NOT MISS OUT ON YOUR CHANCE TO CASH IN HUGE AS WE FINISH THIS MONTH OFF WITH A BANG!!
